For Immediate Release: Thursday 28 June 2018

Wine Intelligence and Women of the Vine & Spirits form strategic alliance, starting with a collaboration to produce a new report “The truth behind gender and global wine consumption: Do women really approach wine in a different way to men?”

Wine Intelligence, the global wine insights and research company, and Women of the Vine & Spirits, the world’s leading women’s organization dedicated to the empowerment and advancement of women in the alcohol beverage industry, are delighted to announce a new strategic alliance between the organisations.

The two companies will kick off their collaboration by working together to research and publish a new report “The truth behind gender and global wine consumption: Do women really approach wine in a different way to men?” Drawing on feedback from over 10,000 wine consumers in key wine markets around the world, this will be the first report to be published that investigates in depth the impact of gender on consumers’ relationship with wine across multiple markets. Publication is planned for September 2018 and information on price and discounts for Women of the Vine & Spirits Corporate Members will be revealed in due course.

The alliance was announced at Women of the Vine & Spirits’ International Summit held in London on the 28th of June 2018 where Wine Intelligence CEO Lulie Halstead was a panellist.

Founder & CEO of Women of the Vine & Spirits Deborah Brenner stated: “Women of the Vine & Spirits is focused on education, empowerment and providing tools and resources for our members to advance in their careers and to demonstrate to businesses that diversity and inclusion is good for the bottom line. We look forward to working with Lulie and Wine Intelligence to collaborate on this first-of-its-kind report, so the data can be best utilized to make informed decisions regarding strategies in marketing and business development.”

In addition, Lulie Halstead commented: “We are extremely excited to be working with Women of the Vine & Spirits. It is a fantastic opportunity for both our organisations to combine our skills and networks for the benefit of our members and clients, and to share our knowledge and experience. In an era where the role of gender is very much front of mind, an independent study, which is statistically reliable and valid, is essential for our industry.”
