Global Compass 2022 is designed to help wine businesses compare the opportunities offered by different wine consumption markets. This report includes a reference guidebook and interactive data tool, which together show the top 50 most attractive wine markets globally. This ranking is based on economic factors and wine market factors that are combined to deliver the weighted attractiveness model, providing a snapshot of the global wine market at this moment.
This year’s version of Global Compass, our 10th, includes for the very first time two market attractiveness models: one for still wine market opportunities and one for sparkling wine market opportunities. Given the current global economic outlook and unusual temporary changes in wine consumption, we have introduced a five-year forecast (2021-2026) as a new variable in both economic and wine measures.
