The business comprises a team of 18 permanent staff, offices in London, Avignon, and Sydney, plus additional freelance associates, who work on a project-by-project basis.
ROLE DESCRIPTION:
The Communications Executive role is a new role created to support the Marketing team with Wine Intelligence’s growing touch points with its current and potential clients. The occupant of the role needs to have strong skills and interest in all aspects of contemporary marketing communications, ranging from high quality editorial content, marketing materials that convey the company’s brand values, understanding of effective social media usage to convey brand values, design excellence, delivering events to high professional standards, and contributing thoughtfully to the company’s marketing strategy. While it might be useful to have knowledge of wine, and the wine industry, it is not a requirement of the role.

 

Core responsibilities:
  • Provide support with the company’s communications with clients, prospects and the media
  • Support the management of the company’s brand image, ensuring latest marketing materials are up-to-date and accessible for all staff
  • Support the executive team, led by the COO, with various administrative tasks
Detailed responsibilities to include:
  • Assisting with content editing and design of the Wine Intelligence magazine
  • Overseeing printing and distribution of the Wine Intelligence magazine
  • Assisting in authoring press releases, marketing materials, editorial for company newsletters
  • Maintaining and updating the company’s client database and assisting with outbound email communications
  • Assisting with the company’s online and social media presence, including website updates
  • Maintaining / updating client testimonials and case studies
  • Supporting with the marketing of events, including brochure design, location selection, floor management

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
  • An ideal candidate will have proven track record in content management, both on and off line
  • They would also have demonstrable technical understanding of digital platforms and code, including (but not limited to) HTML, CSS, XML, Javascript
  • Strong grasp of design theory and practice
  • Outstanding organisational and communication skills
  • Ability to programme in Microsoft Access, working on new and existing in house software
  • Working knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite (Indesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)
  • Experience with e-marketing software, CRM and web content management systems
  • Understanding of the latest best practice in search engine optimisation
  • Good working knowledge of public relations


Skills that are beneficial but not essential to the role:

  • Good working knowledge of public relations, journalism, market research or the wine industry
  • Fluency in one or more of the following languages: French, German, Italian, Mandarin, Portuguese and Spanish
