Dispatches from wine’s global village
With just our Geisenheim and Porto workshops left to deliver, we look back on our series of Global Trends Workshops in London, Sydney, Barcelona, and Santiago
Wine Intelligence’s Global Trends Workshop series is now in its third year; an international roadshow of the latest consumer trends, the Wine Intelligence team explores what really drives consumer behaviour, and the relationships they have with the products, services, and brands they use.
In London, CEO Lulie Halstead led a presentation of this year’s cutting edge trends, delving into how consumer needs have shifted and developed since 2016. Bolstered by new quantitative data that demonstrates the value consumers attach to our 12 identified trends, attendees were charged with the task of bringing a new concept or product to market that embraced one (or two, or three) of them.
South America and Iberia director Juan Park delivered another workshop in Barcelona where he dry attention to the importance of discerning fake trends from real trends (see next story). Hosted in his native Spanish, Juan drew on his specialist local market knowledge and branding expertise to demonstrate how shifts in trends might impact wine, and what key factors will influence wine consumers in the future.
Lulie brought the roadshow even further afield, joining clients in Santiago and Sydney. Australia & NZ country manager Liz Lee brought her understanding of the complexities of the Australian wine market to the mix at our best-ever attended Trends workshop. Over 30 delegates fought tooth and nail to bring their own vision of an on-trend product or service to market for a target audience of one of Wine Intelligence’s Australian Portraits.
Wine Intelligence has limited tickets available for the last two workshops in this series. Our Geisenheim workshop, produced in collaboration with Geisenheim University, looks at consumer trends through the lens of the wine producers. We return to Porto in late June to deliver the last Global Trends 2017 workshop and say tchau until next year.
