Maria manages quantitative and qualitative research projects at Wine Intelligence. Her areas of expertise include the Chinese and Nordic markets, and she is also experienced in the strategy consulting side of the firm’s work. In addition to her project role, Maria leads the reports side of Wine Intelligence, supporting the team in producing relevant and timely syndicated reports on wine markets and wine consumers across the world.
Maria’s past experience prior to joining Wine Intelligence includes working for Katzenbach Partners, a New York-based management consulting firm, as well as two years spent in Wuhan, China, where she studied Mandarin. It was her time in China that sparked her interest in the business side of the wine industry, particularly in emerging markets. Maria graduated from Harvard University in 2007 with an honors degree in Social Studies, a multidisciplinary degree combining economics, politics, history and social theory. She holds the WSET Intermediate Certificate in Wine and Spirits.
